  • 5 starsexcellent item for price

    Francois from French Polynesia

4 starsBought Instreamer and Exstreamer 110 to implement near realtime audio link using PCM over RTP. Has so far lived up to expectations so very pleased. Increased processor load when using TCP/IP interface to serial port can cause RTP audio link to drop out if buffer levels set too low currently set to 40 ms .

3 starsGood but the new model has a USB PSU not so brilliant, The noise floor is better than the original but lacks the SP DIF input allowing for digital input, cheaper than before but look at the Sonifex P send for a better spec product. The DEVA version is better featured with AAC encoding as well. Phil TransplanUK

3 starsGreat value for money but the new PSU being USB is a down grade from the original the new version no longer supports SP Dif digital in. Price has fallen but prefer the DEVA Phil Transplan UK

    5 starsFine, thanks

4 starsThese are great products. It is also possible to upgrade their firmware to do extra things - like fallback to a playlist on a USB stick, or even uncompressed PCM audio. Their website is a bit cryptic/teccie, but there is a good Yahoo forum to get advice, and Brendan at BW is always helpful. Why 4 stars not 5? We have found that they are slightly temperature sensitive, so at the remote TX site we have had audio problems when temperature drops to around freezing. We now have heat management and that problem has gone away!

3 starsGreat place to buy broadcast equipment

    ERIC from France

5 starsThe Barix Instreamer is a great product. It maintains a steady signal when streaming to a server. I have used it for two weeks straight and I have had no sync losses or stream breaks. I have used software based encoders like Oddcast/edcast, RadioBOSS,... I have to say that they are not in the same league as the instreamer. For anyone who is serious about streaming audio over the internet then the Barix Instreamer is the only way to go.

4 starsI use a Barix Instreamer as an Audio Encoder for my SHOUTcast server. I used to use a PC to do this; however, this unit provides a much more reliable, robust and easier to set up solution.
