The TX5 is a top specification FM broadcast transmitter that is ideally suited for low power radio stations. The output power is adjustable from 30-5000 mW.
The Frequency is adjustable from 87.5 to 108 MHz from internal direct reading switches or from the front panel graphics display control system. Setting the frequency internally disables the menu system ensuring no unauthorised frequency changes. Now also available for the Japanese FM band! - Contact Sales for info
The TX5 graphics display on the front panel can indicate frequency, forward and reverse power, power amplifier temperature, power amplifier voltage, PLL board voltage, modulation levels as well as the amount of gain reduction of the internal audio limiter module.
The rear panel contains XLR balanced inputs with input level controls, BNC for multiplex output from the internal digital stereo generator, BNC for multiplex input to the exciter for loop through operation and external processor input. There is also a DB9 connector for fault monitoring, external control of RF output and RS232 control and monitoring. The RF output is via an N-Type socket and mains input is via a fused swicthable IEC power connector.
The RS232 control and monitor system is a dual mode system and the transmitter can be controlled and monitored from a standard terminal program or our custom windows application.
The transmitter is fully configurable and the limiter and stereo encoder can be switched in and out of circuit. Jumpers available on board for pre-emphasis, clipping, processing mode clarity/loud, stereo/mono, and limiter on/off.
The 'virtual VFO' dual loop PLL system allows perfect audio flatness to below 10 Hz. AFC bounce and modulator overshoot are a thing of the past. You now can pass that low bass without distortion and overshoots and obtain that extra low frequency stereo separation.
The amplifier is protected from damage by temperature control systems and antenna fault (VSWR) monitoring. The power to the amplifier is turned back into the safety zone should a fault occur, keeping you on air rather than shutting down completely and taking you off air. Internal harmonic filtering keeps your RF signal clean and compliant to FCC/DTR standards.
The transmitter contains two fully approved efficient switched mode power supply modules with a universal input voltage range from 85-260 volts AC, ensuring compatability of any mains system WORLD-WIDE.
The TX5 is an attractive all in one broadcast solution for small scale stations and because the exciter, amplifier, power supply, stereo encoder and limiter are all in one case the price is less than half that of other comparable systems. A professional unit designed for the small scale broadcaster at a small scale price.
