The MPEG-2 ENCODER is a compact, high-quality, real-time MPEG-2 4:2:0 audio-video encoder offered by Elettronika for the extremely demanding digital television market. It offers great simplicity of operation together with a top-performance compression engine and an excellent picture quality. It exceeds the audio and video encoding specifications of digital video broadcasting (DVB) for broadband satellite, terrestrial and cable applications.
The MPEG-2 ENCODER is assembled in a single 1U case containing a multi-standard video decoder, an analog-to-digital audio and video conversion stage, a unique digital compression engine, an embedded stream multiplexer for combining the compressed audio and video streams, and a dual DVB-ASI output interface. The excellent video quality and the low bit-rate operation let the MPEG-2 ENCODER achieve excellent performances with optimal bandwidth utilisation.
The MPEG-2 ENCODER parameters are completely configurable by the user and can be saved in four user-programmed presets, easily recallable by the front-panel interface. Other four factory-programmed presets are available for user operation.
