Broadcast Warehouse helps Haitian radio stations get back on the air
18/01/2010
Broadcast Warehouse (UK), have this week begun sending out FM transmitters and other FM transmission equipment to help get radio back on the air across the worst hit areas of Haiti. With local and emergency radio stations in Haiti up and running; crucial information can be spread across the disaster area.

With an estimated death toll nearing two hundred thousand and even more injured, information about the coming aid is paramount to the Haitian people. With several hundred radio stations across Haiti, combined with emergency relief stations, Radio is an essential tool for spreading news and information which can be vital to survivors of the disaster.

The earthquake that measured 7.0Mω, with at least thirty three aftershocks has devastated the capital of Port-au-Prince and its surrounding areas. The international community is once again coming together in support of a country in dire need of aid. As with all emergency situations the welfare of the survivors is the primary concern. Radio is often the only contact survivors have with the rest of the world and can provide hope in the face of severe adversity.

Adam Hall, a sales executive from Broadcast Warehouse said ‘At this time, the important thing is the welfare of the individuals involved. With radio stations up and running, news about where the aid can be found can be heard by a large audience across the affected area.’

Broadcast Warehouse, which is the internet’s premier site for broadcast equipment, is also offering heavily subsidised equipment for anyone wishing to purchase items destined for Haiti. Broadcast Warehouse currently has a vast array of broadcast transmission equipment in stock for immediate shipment to the disaster hit areas. Anyone looking to buy equipment, including transmitters, antennas and audio equipment should email adam@broadcastwarehouse.com.
