A low cost audio over IP system for STL's, back ups and remotes

that gets your audio from A to B easily, over networks and the internet.

The Barix Instreamer and Exstreamer 100 are versatile network audio over IP variety of applications. It enables users to create flexible, cost-effective distributed audio systems using standard IP technology.

The Barix Exstreamer 100 plays MP3 as well as G.711 & PCM audio files from PC or web server (http) as well as legacy digital and analog sources (using the Barix Instreamer) and streams from sources like Shoutcast, Icecast (Internet radio) or RTP servers (Instreamer).

The device is easily controlled by a standard webbrowser and with the optional Barix IR remote control. With serial and Ethernet control APIs, the device can also be managed from typical automation systems.

Installing the Barix Exstreamer 100 is fast and simple due to its unique features SonicIP and IPzator: On power up the device findes a correct IP address and announces it over the audio and headphone outputs !

Used in pairs, both the Instreamer and Exstreamer 100 are needed for a complete solution. Please select both products when placing your order.

The Barix Instreamer is an upgraded version of the Instreamer 100, the original IP Audio encoder used in thousands of installations worldwide. It is a versatile, network-enabled, generic analog audio IP encoder suitable for audio distribution, monitoring and transmission purposes in Broadcast, Retail, Security and Entertainment industries alike.

Specific application firmware is available from Barix or can even be programmed by Barix and integrators alike to suit special, non-standard applications. One example is the Barix SIP application, which turns the Instreamer in an audio-dial or call-in monitoring device.

The Barix Instreamer can be easily configured and managed with a web browser. A link on the UI allows direct listening to the audio feed in real time.

The Exstreamer 100 IP Audio Decoder decodes and plays multi-protocol and multi-format audio streams, including MP3, AACplusV2, WMA, PCM, G.711, and Ethersound. It features a stereo line level output, headphone connection, and low power consumption. The Exstreamer 100 is a reliable IP-enabled audio streaming device which can be used in a variety of audio over IP applications such as local and internet-based IP music distribution systems, in-store audio applications, paging and announcement systems.

Configuration is easy, and well laid out. Once configured, just plug in the audio and it works.Been using these devices for a number of years and they are very reliable.

This is a superb way to get audio from one place to another in real time. We\'ve used them via broadband and via the wireless link which is almost as good (our sites are about 4km apart).

These are great products. It is also possible to upgrade their firmware to do extra things - like fallback to a playlist on a USB stick, or even uncompressed PCM audio. Their website is a bit cryptic/teccie, but there is a good Yahoo forum to get advice, and Brendan at BW is always helpful. Why 4 stars not 5? We have found that they are slightly temperature sensitive, so at the remote TX site we have had audio problems when temperature drops to around freezing. We now have heat management and that problem has gone away!

The Barix Instreamer is a great product. It maintains a steady signal when streaming to a server. I have used it for two weeks straight and I have had no sync losses or stream breaks. I have used software based encoders like Oddcast/edcast, RadioBOSS,... I have to say that they are not in the same league as the instreamer. For anyone who is serious about streaming audio over the internet then the Barix Instreamer is the only way to go.

I use a Barix Instreamer as an Audio Encoder for my SHOUTcast server. I used to use a PC to do this; however, this unit provides a much more reliable, robust and easier to set up solution.
